Protesters blocked the entrance to HSBC in St Ann’s Square on Saturday, campaigning to end the company’s alleged connection to the Israeli oppression of Palestinians.

A Manchester activist has warned that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will mean the ‘knackering [of] democracy’, as Global Justice leads a campaign in the city against it.

The day-long event has been organised by a coalition of local environmental groups and will take place at Methodist Central Hall on Oldham Street.
