Both girls are amongst the most talented junior racers in the country and proved it once again at the Championships, being held in Bormio, with Daniels taking gold in the Under-16s slalom and Kamaly-Asl claiming fourth in the Under-14s.

Stockport skiing sensation Sofia Iglina admitted she was overwhelmed to have secured a top-three finish at English Alpine Championships having battled back from injury.

Sofia Iglina’s two National Championships runs this week – in the slalom and giant Slalom – have not gone to plan after she failed to finish in both owing to problems with her skis.
