After 47 years and 30 days, the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union will end at 11pm tonight.

Leavers from across the political spectrum marched through the streets of Manchester yesterday in the name of democracy. March4Democracy was a Leavers of Manchester event organised by Joan Mulvenna and the group is a branch of the Brexit-supporting social networking group, Leavers of Britain.

As the October 31 Brexit deadline swiftly approaches, the Government are preparing for yet another hectic week of negotiations and debate for Britain’s departure from the EU.

The camaraderie and humour were already evident at 6.30am, as people gathered at Manchester’s Central Bus Station.
