With this general election campaign focusing on many things like Brexit, misleading information, the future of the NHS and even blocks of ice, but sadly omitting much talk of the UK’s role in international intervention, MM spoke to David Wearing, a leading researcher and writer on foreign policy and the Middle East.

Labour’s Yvonne Fovargue won the seat in 2017 with a majority of 28,245 votes giving her 60.2% of the vote – an 8.4% rise compared to 2015.

Since its formation in 1997, the seat for Altrincham and Sale West has been held by Conservative Member of Parliament Sir Graham Brady.

Labour’s Yasmin Qureshi won the Bolton South East seat in 2017 with a 31% majority. Qureshi earned 60.7% of the votes, over 13,000 more than closest competitors the Conservative Party.

With a once in a generation snap election just around the corner, it’s time for UK residents to visit their polling stations and vote for their local MP.

Labour’s Rebecca Long-Bailey won the Salford and Eccles seat in 2017 with a 65.5% majority.

Conservative William Wragg marginally won the swing seat in 2017 with a 12% majority. Wragg secured 45.4% of the votes, earning 5,514 more votes than the closest candidate Liberal Democrats’ Lisa Smart with 14,533 votes (32.9%).
