After undergoing the ‘largest transformation in its history’, the Whitworth Art Gallery’s £15million redevelopment project has paid off as it has won the biggest museum prize in Britain and earnt the prestigious title of ‘Museum of the Year’ 2015.

Manchester can look forward to a summer in full bloom after scooping the top prize in the national ‘Grow Wild England’ competition.

Figures obtained through an FOI request to Greater Manchester Police (GMP) show 121 fines were issued from June-December 2014 compared to 147 the previous six months.
