Hyde are still searching for their first win of the season after suffering a fifth straight defeat on Saturday after going down 3-0 at the hands of Lincoln City.
Tigers’ boss Scott McNiven was hopeful that his side would overcome their poor start to the season and finally record the overdue win.
After the match McNiven was furious and lambasted his side’s poor defending.
“Its basic stuff really, it’s not rocket science. Just stay with your men, defend properly and do your job is all you ask them to do and a few of them didn’t do their job at set pieces,” he said.
Two minutes after the start of the second half Hyde went behind as Sean Newton’s corner was headed home by Ben Tomlinson.
The away side’s best chance fell to Liam Tomsett who struck the post from debutant Martin Devaney’s pass.
Lincoln then responded with a goal as Alan Power’s corner was headed in by Bohan Dixon from six yards.
With two minutes left to play Lincoln compounded Hyde’s misery and grabbed their third after Dixon headed past Nick Liversedge again from a corner.
Elsewhere, Altrincham were sent crashing out of the FA Cup after a shock 2-1 defeat to Trafford at Shaw View.
They went behind on 11 minutes as Trafford’s Tom Schofield crossed in for Rory Fallon to score.
However, the lead didn’t last long as striker James Walshaw equalised for Altrincham from the penalty spot after he was brought down.
The killer goal came early in the second half with Michael Oats scoring after a goalmouth scramble.
In the other FA Cup clash Stockport County overcame Brighouse Town 1-0 to advance to the next round.
Defender Kyle Jacobs was the hero as his 35 yard screamer on 67 minutes sent Alan Lord’s men through in a fairly even game at Edgeley Park.
Lord acknowledged the win was ‘scrappy’ but was pleased to get through and he also paid tribute to Jacobs for his goal.
“Are you going to score a better one than that? Fair play to Kyle he’s been asked to play in different positions, he’s a proper workhorse but he’s got some talent as well,” he said.
“As soon as he pulled the trigger back on that one I thought he was in with a chance and it was a great goal.”
Ashton United edged closer to the FA Cup third round with a battling 1-0 victory against AFC Fylde.
The second round qualifying fixture at Kellamergh Park was decided by Martin Pilkington’s strike – though Ashton finished with ten men after Jason Gorton saw red.
Stalybridge’s dream of an FA Cup run is over after being beaten 5-3 at home to Worksop, while Curzon Ashton will travel to the Giant Axe stadium on Tuesday to face Lancaster in a replay after a 0-0 with few clear-cut chances.
In the Evo-Stik Premier, FC United’s woes continue after a 3-1 loss to Whitby Town at Gigg Lane.
United have now lost their last four and have been dumped out of the Manchester Premier Cup and FA Cup in the last fortnight.
