Manchester City Women spend second most on agents over last year

Manchester City spent the second most on agents in the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) between February 2024 and February 2025, according to fresh data from the Football Association (FA).

They paid agents a net total of £288,628 but less than half of the most successful team in WSL history, Chelsea, with £622,604.

Arsenal were in third with £220,719, Manchester United were in fourth with ​​£204,714, and then Aston Villa were in fifth with £160,061.

Four other teams spent more than £100,000: Tottenham Hotspur (£129,225), Everton (£123,474), Leicester City (£129,225), and West Ham United (£109,736).

In the Barclays Women’s Championship, London City Lionesses paid agents a net total of £105,885 – more than Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

Brighton spent £71,196, Liverpool spent slightly less with £69,806, and Crystal Palace concluded the list with £59,775.

This is the first time the FA have released the net total paid to football agents by every club in the WSL and Women’s Championship.

The net total paid to football agents in the WSL was £2,169,842, and £285,549 in the Women’s Championship – £2,455,391 overall.
