Manchester United team up with Google to let fans watch pitch-side at Old Trafford… from comfort of own homes

Manchester United have teamed up with Google to give football fans the chance of lifetime by offering them front-row seats via live video streaming.

Supporters may get the chance to stream United’s clash against Liverpool ‘live’ from Old Trafford appearing via live Google+ Hangout on March 16, as part of the ‘Front Row’ campaign.

The lucky fans selected will have a video stream of themselves broadcast on the advertising boards surrounding the pitch while they are able to watch the match from the comfort of their own homes.

To have a chance of winning, supporters must share a picture of themselves showing their support for the team on Google+ and adding #MUFrontRow.

This sort of initiative will be the first of its kind and could well change the way fans watch football in the future as large football clubs such as Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea look to increase their image on a global scale.

It will offer fans from abroad the chance to watch a game ‘live’ who otherwise might not be able to ever attend a game.

Supporters have taken to Twitter to express excitement at the innovative new venture, with Conor Barron giving it his backing. He said: “This is a great idea from #MUFC and @google.”

Danny Denhard posted: “Google+ & ManUtd have launched #MUFrontRow, globally changing what it means to be a fan.”

@GIGGSY_ETERNAL said: “I agree with this #MUFrontRow thing. There are lots of passionate fans around the world that don’t get to go to games.”

The closing date for the competition is March 5.
