Rochdale will be looking to leapfrog Wycombe Wanderers in the League Two table with a win at Spotland on Saturday.
A Dale victory could strike a significant psychological blow to their opponents in an encounter that may prove pivotal come the end of the season.
Dale are seventh and on a four-game unbeaten run while Wycombe are sixth and undefeated in their last five; with only goal difference separating the pair.
But Dale centre-back Oliver Lancashire believes his side’s impressive home form could tip the balance in their favour.
“We’ve to be confident especially given the start we’ve made at home, but we’ll give Wycombe the respect they deserve,” said Lancashire speaking before Friday’s training session.
Unbeaten at Spotland, Dale have won three games out of four, keeping three clean sheets in the process and Lancashire attributes this to hours of hard-work in training.
“We do a lot of work on our shape and positioning as a unit and I think that’s why we’ve been so solid.”
Dale’s resilience has also been key to their good start to the season, last weekend’s win at Accrington was their second in a month with ten-men, after George Donnelly was dismissed.
“I thought the red card was harsh but we dug in and showed great spirit and determination again,” Lancashire added.
Lancashire also paid tribute to his new partner at centre-back Jack O’Connell, on loan from Blackburn Rovers, who stood up manfully to Accrington’s direct approach last week.
“Jack’s come in on loan and done really well and we’re developing a good a partnership.”
Wycombe meanwhile, will arrive without League Two top-scorer Dean Morgan who is suspended but Lancashire insists they will not be taking the visitors lightly.
“It’s a boost for us that he (Morgan) is out, but we’re still expecting a tough game,” the 24-year-old warned.
