Dougie’ll fix it: Freedman confident of bringing Bolton’s wandering fortunes home against Yeovil

By Scott Hunt

Bolton boss Dougie Freedman is confident he can ‘fix’ the situation at the rock bottom Championship club as they take on Yeovil at The Reebok this weekend.

Wanderers are without a win this season but, despite being bottom of the league, they are just one point from safety and one point behind Yeovil.

Despite their poor start to the season the Bolton boss remains confident that he can turn things around.

“We’re going through a difficult time right now,” Freedman said.

“I’ve been in positions like this before. I know I can fix this situation.

“I’m an honest manager and I understand it’s a disappointing time.

“It’s not a time for me to manage the players. It’s a time for me to lead them and that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Bolton and Yeovil have faced each other just twice before, with Wanderers coming out on top on both occasions.

Yeovil are 22nd in the table with four points and are without a win in seven league matches.

The Somerset side have not won since the opening day of the season and lost at home to QPR last weekend.

Freedman is confident his Bolton side have enough to claim all three points against the Glovers.

“Yeovil will fancy themselves this weekend,” Freedman said.

“It will be tough but I believe the work we have been doing will pay off. We have the quality to win the game.”

Bolton have managed just six league goals so far and none have come from their strikers.

They will be without forward Craig Davies who has not recovered from a foot injury in time for the match

However, Freedman confirmed new loan signing Neil Danns is in line to feature after completing his move from Leicester.

“Neil Danns is a wonderful character,” Freedman said.

“He’s got great athleticism and a goal in him. He’s the kind of player we need right now.”

Yeovil have brought defender Shane Duffy in on loan from Everton as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Byron Webster serves the final game of his suspension and Liam Fontaine is unavailable to face Bolton due to injury.
