Wilfried Zaha admits he will be bowled over by Manchester United’s superstars the first time he walks into Old Trafford this summer.
The 20-year-old starlet was loaned back to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season after the Red Devils snapped him up for a reported £12m in January.
And as Zaha edges closer to meeting his new teammates for the first time, the winger revealed a touch of nerves ahead of the big day.
“I am nervous and excited,” he told The Sun. “I cannot wait – it will be something different.
“When I walk into that dressing room at United, I do not know what I will feel. I will keep my head down as I am there to play football.
“But I have to admit I will be a little bit starstruck. Van Persie and Giggs will be there – wow. Rooney will be there – amazing. How can I not look forward to this?”
But one thing that will worry United fans is Zaha’s inconsistent Championship form since his big money move was announced.
After notching just one goals and two assists since the transfer – in a game against Hull City – he moved to reassure Palace fans of his commitment to their cause.
“The priority now is Crystal Palace,” he added. “I can only assure everyone that this is the case.
“I’ve had a little dip in my performance since I signed for United, I will not deny that, but I have to get back to what I do well.”
