Juventus officials fly to Manchester in bid to lure bad boy Carlos Tevez away from ‘city with only two restaurants’

By Colin Rhodes

Juventus are set to travel to Manchester in a bid to persuade City striker Carlos Tevez to join them.

Officials from the Italian giants are expected to land in Manchester in a bid to lure away the striker – and it is thought they are prepared to fork out more than £10million to secure him.

The 29-year-old star, who was involved in a protracted dispute with City during the 2011-12 season, is believed to be content to stay at City.

However, he is concerned that he may not feature in manager Manuel Pelligrini’s plans, according to the Daily Mail.

Tevez’s contract at City expires at the end of next season and the club are keen to cash in rather than allow him to walk away for nothing.

The bad boy striker joined Manchester City from Manchester United for a fee in the region of £25million, becoming the first player to cross the city since 1999.

He has scored an impressive 74 goals in 125 appearances.

Tevez infamously lashed out at Manchester in 2011, claiming the city bored him.

“There’s nothing to do in Manchester,” Tevez told an Argentine chat show. “There’s two restaurants and everything’s small. It rains all the time, you can’t go anywhere. There comes a moment where you say ‘where am I going to go with my family?’ and you begin to feel bad.”
