A Manchester takeaway has responded after England made of meal of their World Cup – with a Rooney burger.
The meaty tribute to Manchester United’s Wayne at Middleton’s Chicken Lodge is described as ‘plain, nothing special and over-priced’, costing an eye-watering £18.
Rooney was has been bitten by criticism from fans and the media ahead of the tournament in Brazil for his underwhelming Three Lions form – especially when considering his £300,000-a-week wage packet at Old Trafford.
However, the 28-year-old asserted himself well in his left-wing berth and struck the bar in the 2-1 defeat to Uruguay before tapping home his first World Cup goal at his third tournament.

England bow out of the tournament with their final Group D match against surprise package Costa Rica tomorrow afternoon.
And Rooney could be forced to watch the match from the sidelines as Roy Hodgson promised to shuffle his pack.
