Three Blackburn gymnasts have earned national acclaim for their tireless efforts in embodying the best the sport has to offer.
Nicola Bradley and Elaine Riley, who represent Blackburn with Darwin Acrobatics Gymnastics Club, were nominated for the Learning and Development Individual Practitioner award and Volunteer of the Year award respectively at the British Gymnastics Awards 2025.
The recognition honoured their work in ensuring members at the club can fulfil their full potential and be their best gymnastics selves.
With several years of service under their belts, Bradley and Riley revealed their joy at earning national recognition for simply being involved with a sport so close to their hearts.
“I was absolutely delighted to receive the email and very grateful that someone has taken the time to nominate me for this award,” said Bradley.
Riley added: “I was a little shocked and pleasantly surprised to hear that I had been nominated for an award and a finalist.
“Having been involved with the club for over 30 years it feels really nice to be recognised in this way by those who have worked alongside me supporting the girls and boys who love to participate in gymnastics at the club.”
Blackburn gymnast Lissy Cooper was also nominated for the Young Person of the Year Award.
