Bolton striker Jermaine Beckford is disappointed Wanderers failed to capitalise on his goal and take all three points against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Beckford found the back of the net for the second time in as many games but Bolton were unable to keep Wednesday at bay.
The 1-1 draw at The Reebok extended Bolton’s unbeaten run to four games but Beckford admitted he wanted more than just one point.
“It was a hard earned point but we are disappointed we didn’t get all three,” Beckford said.
“It is always nice to score but I would always give away the goal in place of three points.
“We have to brush ourselves down and look at it as four games now undefeated. We now have to push on.”
Beckford opened the scoring against Wednesday after running on to a Neil Danns through ball to poke past an onrushing Chris Kirkland.
Bolton’s top scorer Alex Baptiste continued his habit of finding the net this season – although unfortunately for Wanderers at the wrong end on this occasion.
Defender Baptiste headed the ball into his own net after 26 minutes following a Jeremy Helan cross.
The 1-1 draw leaves Bolton languishing in 21st position in the SkyBet Championship – just three points off the bottom.
Dougie Freedman’s men take on Ipswich at The Reebok next Saturday and the manager is hopeful they can do better than against Wednesday.
“The chances are there, our approach play was good and our defending at times was very good today,” he said.
“We’ve got to make sure that we take our opportunities and that will propel us up this league.”
