Man City now have the Champions League know-how to compete with the big boys, says Edin Dzeko

Nevermind Manchester City putting all their eggs into the Champions League basket this campaign alone, they will be competing for the trophy for season upon season says Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian captain penned a four-year deal at the Premier League champions on Wednesday as he looks to improve on his goal haul of 26 last term.

With only two of those strikes coming in Europe’s top competition, Dzeko is sure he and his team can up their game in the one major title to allude them since they embarked on a trophy-winning run in 2011.

“We want to try and improve not just this season but in the next few years because I think we have a big potential to do that and we just have to work hard,” Dzeko told CityTV.

“Maybe now we have even more experience in the big games because the last two games last year, against Barcelona, were big for the club.

“I’m definitely sure we will be better and better.”

City were handed a footballing lesson by the slick-passing Catalans in the two-legged last 16 clash in February and March, losing 4-1 on aggregate.
