Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond cannot wait to start working with Manchester-born Magnus Lund again after the forward returned to England following a six-year stint with Biarritz.
Lund, who has 10 England caps, made his Sale Sharks debut back in 2002 against Bristol as a 19-year-old and was a member of the team that won the championship four years later, setting the Manchester side on their way by scoring the first try in the win over Leicester Tigers.
The flanker went on to captain Biarritz and helped the southern French outfit to the 2010 Heinken Cup final, where they lost to Toulouse.
Diamond said: “I am delighted Magnus has signed for us. I gave him his debut back in 2002 and have followed his career down the years.
“He is a great signing for us and will fit in perfectly with our plans.”
Sale kick off their season on September 6 when they welcome Bath to the AJ Bell stadium.
