He wants to win EVERYTHING: Patrice Evra reveals David Moyes’ plans for Manchester United to bring it all home

By John McDougall

His new boss may have only been in the job for a few months but Manchester United’s frenetic left-back Patrice Evra knows David Moyes is eager to add to Old Trafford’s bulging trophy cabinet.

The Premier League champions got their title defence off to an impressive start at the weekend with a commanding victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

And though the 32-year-old French international is not looking too far ahead, Evra knows the result bodes well for the Red Devils’ season.

“We all know what the manager wants, he wants to win everything, and that is the target,” he told MUTV.

“We have gained some confidence from this result, but as I say, it’s only the first game. It is just the beginning.

“It was a great start to the season, and I think we deserved it too as we worked very hard over pre-season.

“It was a message to show people what we want to achieve with this new manager, for us, for the staff, and for the Manchester United fans.”

The Old Trafford giants ran out comfortable winners in South Wales thanks to two goals each from Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck.

With van Persie scoring four goals in two games and Welbeck equalling his club goal tally for last season in one match, Evra feels United’s strikers have hit the ground running.

“I keep telling Robin to calm down. I don’t know why he can’t start a little more softly,” the Frenchman joked.

“He scored two in the Community Shield and scored two again at Swansea. He’s a great player and he’s hungry, he wants to win more trophies.

“I am really pleased for Danny as he works so hard and what a finish that was for his second goal.”
