Rochdale assistant manager Chris Beech believes the best is yet to come from Rochdale even though his side are level on points with the League Two leaders.
Dale won 2-1 at Morecambe on Saturday to go third in the table with just goal difference keeping them off top spot.
Although Beech was delighted with the victory against promotion rivals Morecambe he insisted that the team can still improve.
“We do believe there’s more to come we’re nowhere near the finished article,” Beech told The Dale Player.
“We want to start good but finish great and that’s exactly what we did (against Morecambe) we got stronger as the game went on.”
“That’s a psychological thing that we try and maintain throughout our training sessions.”
The away victory was also Dale’s first ever at Morecambe and after the 3-0 humbling they received last year, this pleased Beech.
“We didn’t have the best of times (at Morecambe) last season when Keith and myself took over, so we’re pleased with the progression and we’re pleased with the way the players are going,” Beech said.
Striker Scott Hogan continued his successful comeback from injury scoring a marvellous second half goal for which he showed ‘unbelievable talent’, according to Beech.
“It’s good for him because strikers thrive on goals but we know there’s more than just goals in Scott,” Beech added.
“Scott is vital but so are the other members of the squad even the ones that didn’t travel to Morecambe because we will need them.”
