Pep Guardiola – it’s always a tough game at Wolves

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says the current league table is not a true reflection of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ performances this season.

Defending Premier League Champions City – with four wins and two draws in their last six matches – travel to face a Wolves side who’ve managed only one draw and five losses in the same period.

But Guardiola whose team lost 2-1 on their last visit to the Molineux has seen enough from the bottom placed side to write them off.

He said: “It’s always a tough game with Wolves, dating back to the time of Nuno.

“During the international break, I took time to watch their matches. I think they have less points than they deserve.”

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (groin) and defender Nathan Aké (thigh injury) are still out injured and not ready for first team action. Rodri & Oscar Bob are long time absentees.

Man City go into Sunday’s game one point behind current league leaders Liverpool.

Despite having conceded the first goal in four of their last six Premier League games, City remain undefeated in all competitions this season.

There is speculation that Guardiola was one of 10 managers interviewed for the England head coach role.

He said “Tuchel is the manager now, and I wish him all the best.”
