‘It’s in my hands’: Nani insists nothing certain with Manchester United future as big spenders come calling

By Alex Bysouth

Unpredictable winger Luis Nani insists his Manchester United future is in his hands, despite being linked to several of Europe’s top clubs.

The Portuguese featured irregularly under Sir Alex Ferguson and, when compared to compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, has often been criticised for not reaching his potential.

However, despite reported interest from free-spending Monaco and North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, the 26-year-old is confident he will decide where he plays next season.

“My future? Nothing is certain,” he said. “I am calm. I have everything in my hands. I am not saying that I will not continue at Manchester United.

“I will think about what is best for me. I have respect for the Portuguese clubs, especially Sporting Lisbon but also Benfica and Porto, but I don’t think that is viable.

“I think my level at the moment is different.”

The Portugal international arrived at Old Trafford in 2007 and has four Premier League winners’ medals and a Champions League to his name.

However, United winger Bebe is keen on a permanent move to Sporting Lisbon after spending the last two seasons on loan in Portugal with Benfica and Rio Ave.

The 22-year-old has made just two appearances since a £7.4million move to the Red Devils in 2010.
