Anger from F1 fans as prices skyrocket for Silverstone 2023 tickets

F1 fans have been expressing their anger after the disaster surrounding the release of tickets for the 2023 British GP at Silverstone.

The tickets were originally released on Thursday, but after long delays and users experiencing issues finalising their payments the Silverstone team decided to freeze ticket sales.

Tickets went back on sale at 11:30am today but the issues with long queues and payments are still plaguing fans, with some saying they had to wait over 10 hours between yesterday and today.

But the problems with getting entry to the British GP don’t end there. Silverstone have come under fire for their new ‘dynamic pricing system’ that sees the ticket prices change based on demand. This meant that the more time people spent waiting in the queue, the more they’d be expected to pay by the time they got to the basket.

A reddit user showed the difference just 20 minutes in the online queue could make to the ticket price.

Another dismayed buyer showed how fast the cost was rising just by refreshing the website.

Silverstone apologised for fans frustration in relation to technical issues with the website, but they declined to acknowledge the rapid increases caused by the dynamic pricing system.
