Manchester Phoenix are hoping for a top-four finish after Neil Morris’ men returned to winning ways last weekend.
A reversal in recent fortunes saw Tony Hand’s side climb the English Premier League to sit just seven points off the top with two games in hand.
With upcoming encounters against Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday (7:30pm) and Swindon Wildcats on Sunday (6:30pm) Morris is eager to see his side push on this weekend.
“I said we’d be a force to be reckoned with when we’re back at full strength and we’ve proved that,” he told MM.
“We’ve gone for a small, tight squad and it’s worked. I think the boys look positive and strong with all fifteen men on the ice.”
The Mancunian side won just two out of their nine matches in October but are confident of performing well for the rest of the season.
“This season is tough, there are a lot of sides that could win this championship.
“All things considered if we do what we set out to do this season and finish in the top four then we’ve done really well.”
Phoenix put in a convincing display last Saturday to beat Hull Pirates 6-1 away before returning to their temporary Deeside home to face last year’s champions Telford Tigers in the EPL Cup, edging a close affair 2-1.
“We out-moved and out-played Hull,” said a delighted Morris.
“They gave away two penalties and we scored on both of them but throughout we looked the more dominant team.
“Like us, Telford have started the season with injuries and like us they were back to strength and it showed.
“It was a good game of hockey, they were difficult to beat but we held our own.
“We had a four point weekend and not many people can say that.”
