Bolton Wanderers’ ‘wonderful talent’ Mark Davies could make his long-awaited return from injury this weekend after being sidelined since February.
The midfielder damaged his anterior cruciate ligament against Peterborough on February 26 and has not featured for Bolton since.
Manager Dougie Freedman confirmed at his press conference on Friday that Davies was available for selection.
“He’s available to be selected – will he be involved on Sunday? I’ve still got to make my mind up,” Freedman said.
“We have waited about six weeks longer than the doctors have told us but I feel it’s the best way to do it.
“Mark is a wonderful talent and I haven’t really had him at the football club.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what everybody tells me he’s got.”
Davies was a bright spark for Bolton even in the Premier League and will provide a huge boost to the squad as they bid to move up the Championship table.
The midfield playmaker, who has represented England at Under-19 level signed a new contract at Bolton just prior to his knee injury.
Whether he features on Sunday or not, Davies is a player who will be a welcome addition to Freedmans midfield options.
