Should Adnan Januzaj achieve half of what his no. 11 shirt Manchester United predecessor Ryan Giggs did, the young Belgian will have had a heck of a career.
United announced their squad numbers for 2014/15 by handing the 19-year-old the old shirt of Giggs, the three-times European champions’ record appearance holder with 963, while new signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera were given nos. 3 and 21 respectively.

Januzaj impressed with his pace and skill last season in a largely bleak year for the Old Trafford club, though he only featured for Belgium for 60 group stage minutes of their World Cup campaign as his compatriots impressed en route to the quarter-finals.
But with his whole career in front of him and a new, more promising year in prospect under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal, Januzaj could start collecting silverware.
How far must he go to rival Giggs? A long, long way. The Welshman picked up 34 trophies including 13 Premier League crowns, four FA Cups, three League Cup wins and two Champions League titles in his marathon spell at United.
