As the dust settled on a hectic transfer window, some of Manchester’s biggest football stars turned out for World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies last night.
Six players from Manchester City and United scored goals while on International duty and MM has compiled videos of all of them in one place.
1. Manchester City’s Sergio Agüero put the finishing touches on a fine team move as Argentina qualified for the 2014 World Cup with a 5-2 victory over Paraguay.
2. United’s Shinji Kagawa showed David Moyes what he’s been missing with an accurate low drive to equalise against Ghana. Japan came from behind to run out 3-1 winners.
3. Aleksandar Kolarov scored a screamer for Serbia as they outclassed Wales in a 3-0 win. The Manchester City player arrowed a left footed shot from 30 yards into the top right hand corner.
4. Manchester City attacker Samir Nasri helped France to their first win in 5 games with a precise strike from just outside the penalty area. France went on to beat Belarus 4-2.
5. New City signing Jesús Navas showed off his attacking nous to get himself ahead of the defender and finish smartly to earn Spain a late 2-2 draw against Chile.
6. Robin van Persie scored the only 2 goals of Holland’s ollHosssgame against Andorra. His first was classic van Persie, creating just enough room to unleash a powerful left-footed curler from outside the box. His second was a simple tap in but it sealed the victory that would make the Netherlands the first European nation to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
