Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has set his sights on an Etihad exit in a bid to get regular playing time, according to his international team-mate Miralem Pjanic.
Despite City boss Manuel Pellegrini giving Dzeko early season opportunities the chemistry that has emerged between Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero has meant the Bosnian has had limitied opportunities of late.
With the January transfer window a few weeks away Pjanic believes his countryman could be seeking fresh pastures in a bid to reignite his career.
“Will Dzeko transfer to Italy? I’m in contact with him and I know he aspires to play more and feel more important (than now),” Pjanic told Sky Sport Italia.
“He is a great player and he could do well in Italy but for now he is a City player, even though I don’t know how long he will remain there.”
With Manchester City taking on Bayern Munich in the Champions League Dzeko could get the opportunity he is craving.
City are already assured of a place in the last 16 of the competition which could lead Pellegrini to rotate his squad for tonight’s clash against the European champions.
