Gone Guys: ‘Embarrassed’ Rosler set to ring changes at underperforming Wigan

Wigan’s bitterly disappointed and embarrassed manager Uwe Rosler has said that some players do not care enough and will be waiting a long time before they get the chance to play again.

The Latics lost 3-1 to Bolton Wanderers away from home on Friday night where they completely fell apart in the second half to concede three goals in quick succession after a strong first half performance.

Dominance and no prizes has been the story for Rosler week after week in the Championship this year and he feels it is now time to dish out punishments.

“The worst thing is that we’ve let down the fans with such a performance, especially in a derby game,” he said.

“I don’t think that means much to my players and I saw that going forward. Some of them will have to wait a long time before they get a chance again.”

The boss was disappointed that his side did not hold out the determination they had shown in previous matches and the quality in front of goal was once again not there.

He added: “Bolton won the game through will power, energy, desire, very competitive and some of our players couldn’t cope.

“It was absolutely embarrassing. We lost our heads and the will to compete for our club and for yourself and your family. I take responsibility for this and always will.”

Next up for Wigan is Middlesbrough after the international break, who are in excellent form sitting very comfortably in third place and have only lost once in the last ten games.

Dropping to 21st place after the defeat to Bolton, Latics will need a miracle to save them from a fall into the relegation zone as Rosler continues to search for answers.
