Radamel Falcao insists he is enjoying life at Manchester United despite an injury-hampered start to his time at Old Trafford.
The Colombian forward, 28, arrived at the 20-time league champions in a big-money loan switch from French principality club Monaco in September last year in a major move by Louis van Gaal.
However, the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid striker, dubbed ‘El Tigre’, struggled to hold down a first-team spot in the first half of the season, with niggling injuries restricting him to just one goal.
But Falcao insisted that a troubled start to his fledgling United career was made easier by the helpful attitude of his teammates and the Carrington staff, telling MUTV.com: “I’m good. My family are comfortable and we’re enjoying life in Manchester and here at the club – it’s a great place.
“The people have been brilliant with me right from the start. They [my colleagues] welcomed me.
“They supported me and helped me with whatever I needed, they are a really humble group of players, really decent and I was taken aback by how kind they’ve been.”
Van Gaal’s Red Devils are currently on an 11-match unbeaten run in all competitions, with Falcao starting in the last five outings – notching two more in the process, away at Aston Villa and Stoke City respectively.
Despite his return to form, Falcao is still searching for his second Old Trafford goal, having only netted once at the Theatre of Dreams so far this term, and he admitted that the ferocity of the Premier League has been difficult to acclimatise too.
“I place a lot of value in the hard work that I have to put in for each goal and I know just how much effort it requires, so I want to score again at Old Trafford soon,” he explained.
“The Premier League is more attractive than the French league.
“Defenders are stronger and more aggressive but in a good way because it’s intense and overall just more physical, so it’s different but I’m enjoying it.”
