Lancashire are taking on Surrey in the opening match of the County Championship season at Emirates Old Trafford.
After finishing last season unbeaten against Surrey, drawing their encounter at Old Trafford and winning the contest at the Kia Oval by 123 runs, Lancashire hope to continue their recent dominance in the fixture to get off to a winning start this season.
However, Surrey went on to retain their Division one County Championship title last season and after the news that their director of cricket Alec Stewart will step down at the end of the season, the brown caps are eyeing a historic three-peat.
Day one of the contest was abandoned due to a wet outfield and while day two is still commencing, Mancunian Matters will have coverage of the final two days of play from Sunday and Monday.
We’ll bring you a full recap of Saturday’s play, but you can also access a preview of the contest here
