Salford City Reds interim boss Alan Hunte believes the club is in the strongest position in Super League ahead of his side’s trip to Widnes Vikings.
The Reds knocked Huddersfield Giants off the league-leaders perch on Good Friday while the Vikings pulled of their own Easter shock – toppling Warrington Wolves.
Salford currently sit two points off the foot of the table but Hunte believes the club offers the best opportunity around for any prospective head coaches.
“There’s not a club in the country that could be stronger – that could have better players, better kids and better facilities,” he told BBC Radio Manchester.
“The guy coming in will make his own call on where he feels we are, and from that he’ll hopefully start trying to make things better.”
Both clubs suffered defeats on Easter Monday and a win for the Reds would see them draw level on points with the Vikings.
Prop Jacob Emmitt is set to make his Reds debut after completing a loan switch with Ryan Boyle from Castleford Tigers.
The 24-year-old Wales international becomes the second loan arrival in as many weeks following the arrival of Lee Gaskell, who touched down in both Easter fixtures.
Emmitt – who has also played for Championship side Keighley Cougars this season – will remain at the Salford City Stadium for the rest of the year.
“I’m really looking forward to being here and getting in the team, and then hopefully pushing on from there,” he told the club website.
“I know the lads had it tough during the preseason but since the club’s been taken over all you hear is positive news coming out of the place.
“I’m really looking forward to that and being part of the revolution of Salford City Reds.”
