David Moyes is refusing to panic after watching Manchester United slip to another Old Trafford defeat and exit the FA Cup to Swansea.
A late winner from Wilfried Bony condemned Moyes to his fifth home defeat in charge of Manchester United – having lost four of their last six at Old Trafford.
Moyes however is keen to move on and not dwell on the defeat.
“If you lose games at any club it’s difficult – at Manchester United it’s even bigger,” Moyes told BT Sport.
“But that’s the job and we get on with it.”
It was yet another home game where United controlled possession without displaying enough cutting edge to get the win.
The United defence was sliced open by Swansea after 12 minutes as Wayne Routledge lobbed Anders Lindegaard to put the visitors ahead.
Javier Hernandez hit back within four minutes to draw United level, finishing smartly from an Alexander Buttner cross.
Frustration grew once more inside Old Trafford as United failed to test Swansea keeper Gerhard Tremmel enough in the second half.
Substitute Fabio then saw red for United after a high tackle on Jose Canas before Bony punished ten-man United with his 90th minute winner.
The end of the game brought a chorus of boos from a near-empty Old Trafford and under-fire Moyes acknowledged his sides’ lack of cutting edge.
“We had certain periods of good control but we didn’t get a goal or create enough chances,” the Scot said.
“We are a bit unlucky to lose but we probably didn’t do enough to win it.
“When you’re down to ten men you want to see it out and take a replay but we didn’t quite get that far.”
United are in cup action again on Tuesday as they take on Sunderland in the Capital One Cup Semi-Final first leg at The Stadium of Light.
A game away from Old Trafford will come as a relief for Moyes though the pressure to win will be on as the League Cup represents United’s best chance of a trophy this season.
