Manchester city centre will host ten days of free cycling events starting on Friday June 5 and ending on Sunday June 14.
The North West Velo is now into its fourth year and will be bringing with it the longest line-up of events in its short history.
The annual festival features 15 events including the infamous World Naked Bike Ride – where participants are encouraged to ‘dare to bare’ – and the Tour De Manc, which will take in the sights of our city as well as a themed treasure hunt.
Events will give visitors the opportunity to drop in for a free bicycle check-up and maintenance service as well as a chance to put their pedal to the metal on the pedal-powered sound system.
Fashion-conscience riders can join the Tweed Ride, a minimum-exertion cycle starting from Albert Square, for well-dressed wheelers to take to the city’s streets.
North West Velo Fest organiser, Kat Malin-August said: “The events will give people the opportunity to experience sides of cycling they may not have encountered before, such us bike polo and mountain biking.”
