Two out of three ain’t bad, a rotund rocker once sang.
The two trophies that Manchester City added to their cabinet in 2014 certainly can’t be sniffed at anyway.
The Blues clinched League Cup glory in March with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland before going on to peg back Liverpool to seal their second Premier League title in three years.
Along the way, City set a bizarre record during the 2013-14 campaign as they spent just 15 days at the top – in comparison to Arsenal who occupied first for 128 days but still fell short.
But it matters not, City became champions and are now in prime position to defend their title as they go into 2015 – sitting joint top of the table with Chelsea.
So as we wave goodbye to 2014, here’s MM’s statistical round-up for the blue side of Manchester.
