Super League Champions Wigan Warriors hosted a media and testing day at Robin Park Arena last week as the players underwent a variety of fitness tests.
After a 10-day training camp in Portugal, Matt Peet’s team returned to training in Wigan, which included an intense Yo-Yo fitness test.
Two-time Grand Final winner Joel Tomkins was also confirmed as the club’s new scholarship head coach.
The 36-year-old has left his job as a firefighter to take up the full-time role.
Head coach Peet said: “The pathway he has been on professionally since his rugby career has put him in a really strong place and ultimately he was the best candidate for us.”
