The ninth annual duck race took place at Salford’s Watersports Centre yesterday raising money for a local charity.
The charity, MedEquip4kids has a community event that has been held in Salford Quays and came back this year to highlight the importance of local hospitals supporting them with equipment supplies for babies and children.
The event included two duck races, a corporate race and the public race sold up to 950 tickets.
Reporter Ollie Dennett went down to find out more.
MedEquip4Kids has been working since 1985 to improve the health of babies and children across the UK, the equipment they help fund isn’t covered by NHS funding.
The charity also delivers the Hummingbird Project, a programme of mental health workshops in schools.
The event included entertainment, a funfair, onsite catering and an ice cream van.
