A six-year-old boy from Oldham was the quickest to react last month when his sister suffered her first seizure, immediately alerting his mother and following instructions until the emergency services arrived.
Last month Noah Marsh duly collected his ‘Little Trooper of the Month’ award which included a certificate, medal and a £50 amazon voucher.
The prize is awarded by the Little Trooper charity and given to military children who have gone above and beyond.
His sister Scarlett has had several seizures since and has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. Noah has continued to be caring, understanding and doing what he can to support his sister.
Mum Karen nominated her son for the award and made sure to praise him during such a difficult time.
She said: “Noah has been very resilient and been amazing in support of his sister. He has been accepting and has dealt with everything in a very mature manner.
“He is absolutely over the moon and can’t wait to wear it with pride alongside his dad on Remembrance Day.”
Louise Fetigan, founder of the charity, said it was clear that Noah deserved the award.
She said: “The maturity and resilience he has shown in the face of a medical emergency was amazing.”
Little Troopers is a registered charity which supports children who have parents serving in the British Armed forces.
They provide resources for use at home and in school, as well as running special projects such as the Little Troopers All Together Deployment club and a therapy programme.
