Manchester has hosted its first-ever Sonic Con – an event which celebrates the animated character Sonic the Hedgehog.
Over 500 fans flocked to Pendulum Hotel in Manchester last weekend to attend performances and panel discussions related to the Sonic universe.
Featured guests included Bentley Jones, who performed and recorded tracks for various Sonic the Hedgehog video games.
But the event provided more than just entertainment, as it gave attendees the opportunity to express their passion for the Sonic universe and interact with like-minded fans.
Sonic the Hedgehog’s first major appearance was in 1991 when he starred in a 2D platformer video game on the Sega Mega Drive.
Today, the iconic blue speedster is now the star of dozens of video games, three blockbuster feature films, and various fan-made stories.
Sonic Con UK is expected to return to Manchester in 2025, with the dates set to be announced soon.
