Watch: Participants brave cold water for good cause in Salford Quays swim

More than 200 people braved the cold water for the 14th USwim event on New Year’s day at Salford Quays.

The event saw participants bring in 2025 with a splash while raising funds for charity.

This year’s chosen beneficiary was the Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust.

Event organiser Karen Quartermain said: “It is a really small charity, they supported my family when I lost my brother.”

Despite cold conditions, participants embraced the event with many confirming to Mancunian Matters they would be back next year.
