WATCH: Community group gather to protect wildlife amid greenspace development plans

A community campaign group gathered this morning in an effort to ensure wildlife are protected amid plans to develop on greenspace land in South Manchester.

‘Friends of Ryebank Fields’ are campaigning to save the area of greenspace land in Chorlton, from development.

Sarah Benjamins, a representative of the group, told Mancunian Matters they are concerned that the developers are using tactics which may constitute “crimes against wildlife”.

She explained that the gathering was intended to ensure that correct procedures were being followed upon a site inspection visit from the developers today.
