Former Manchester United manager David Moyes will not face prosecution following allegations of a bar room brawl in Lancashire.
The allegations related to an alleged incident which occurred in May inside the Emporium Wine bar in Clitheroe.
Tensions reportedly erupted after Moyes was verbally abused for his performance as United manager.
Josh Gillibrand, 23, was in the bar and claimed that Moyes had attacked him, injuring his shoulder during the assault.
Lancashire Police have now confirmed that after a full investigation, no further action against Moyes will be taken.
“After careful consideration of all the circumstances in this case it has been decided that no further action will be taken against anyone,” Lancashire Police said in a statement.
“A thorough investigation has been carried out and everyone identified as having been involved in this incident or having witnessed it have provided accounts to the police.
“These accounts have been considered and it has been decided that this is the most appropriate course of action.”
A month before the incident Moyes had been sacked by Manchester United for an unsatisfactory league campaign which saw the Red Devils finish in seventh place.
Before taking the role at United, Moyes successfully managed Preston North End and then Everton for ten years, consistently leading the club into high placed positions
Moyes was recently spotted at Preston’s home stadium Deepdale to watch his former side beat local rivals Burnley in a pre-season fixture.
