The horrifying incident occurred on Quay Street, near to Walkabout bar, around 2.45am on June 8 when the victim bumped into another man.
After an argument the man lunged at the victim, pushing him to the ground and biting him in the face before leaving.

He was clean shaven, was wearing a blue shirt and spoke with a local accent.
Detective Constable Robert Corbishley of North Manchester Division, said: “This was a violent attack and the victim required 20 stitches to his face.
“There are likely to have been quite a few people around at this time in the evening, maybe going home after a night out that may have seen the attack.
“If you recognise the man with his shirt off in the CCTV image please contact police immediately.
“We are also keen to speak to the other man in the image, who was not involved in the attack, but was present throughout. We are urging anybody who may have any information to contact us.”
