A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a road traffic accident in Wigan left a 19-year-old girl dead.
At around 9:15pm on Sunday, August 16, police were called to Central Parkway, Wigan to reports that a serious collision had taken place between two cars.
Officers attended and established that a white Ford Focus ST was travelling on Central Parkway, Wigan when it attempted to overtake the car in front before being involved in a head on collision with a black Peugeot 206.
Isobelle Woodall, who was travelling as a passenger in the Peugeot, sustained serious head injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
She was described by her family as being ‘loved by everyone who knew her’.
Paying tribute to her, a family statement read: “Isobelle was a happy, fun-loving and affectionate girl who at 19 years of age was just finding her place in the world. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
“As a family we have been left bereft at her leaving us but she will always be alive in our hearts.”
The 38-year-old man who was driving the Ford Focus ST was yesterday arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and fraud by false representation.
He has now been bailed until 28 October 2015 pending further enquiries.
