A motorcyclist has lost his life after colliding into a tree in Bolton.
Around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, a 42-year-old man lost control of his blue Suzuki motorbike on Frederick Street in Farnworth, near the junction with Westwood Close.
The rider subsequently collided into a tree at the side of road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Brian Orr said: “Our thoughts are with his family, who are understandably devastated by the tragic news.
“We have officers supporting them as best we can at this difficult time and are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full facts.”
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the SCIU investigation team.
