A small group of volunteers from the Flixton community have set up a foodbank to support local people through the financial struggles of lockdown.
The team at Sticky Wicket Supplies, operating out of Flixton Cricket and Sports Club, rely on the community for donations and have been met with lots of support.
The volunteers date and sort all of the donated items, including food and toiletries, and package up bags for people in need.
Organisers pride themselves on supporting people indiscriminately, not asking for any explanation of visitors’ personal or financial situation that brings them to the foodbank.
Reverend Huw Thomas, one of the key volunteers, spoke to us about the project.
