At Greater Manchester’s fifth Green Summit last week, policymakers, business leaders, and activists gathered with a shared aim: to work out how the city-region can continue its development towards a green future.
There were concerns coming into the conference. Manchester is behind its goals, and by some distance; the city is set to breach its carbon budget for the century by around 2027.
But there was also a sentiment of a vision shared and a plan of action agreed upon.
Green energy champion Dale Vince, the owner of Ecotricity and Forest Green Rovers, announced he will be helping to found a Green Energy Task Force to develop renewable energy solutions in Manchester and Liverpool.
