‘Transforming parental leave’: Bring Your Own Baby Comedy set to tickle Mums & Dads of Manchester and Salford

If you think your kids can make you laugh, what about a stand up comedy show while you watch with your newborn?

Bring Your Own Baby Comedy is the lunchtime comedy club for parents, where babies under 12 months can come too, and Mums and Dads from Salford and Manchester will be treated to a barrel of laughs next month.

On Thursday September 6 the Lyric Theatre in The Lowry will host superstar Jason Manford, alongside first class comedy talent including Carly Smallman (star of the Rob Brydon Show and ITV) and Alyssa Kyria (aka The Funny Mummy).

Having a baby no longer means saying goodbye to enjoying the best live comedy stars from the circuit and TV: the shows are something totally new and different.

As well as being an awesome night out (during the day), there are also toys to keep your kids occupied and soft flooring.

Oh, and plenty of buggy parking, baby changing and helping hands to make everyone’s day out as relaxed as possible.

“BYOB Comedy have transformed parental leave,” say the iPaper, while the BBC add: “Parents can listen to comedy in a space where breastfeeding and crying babies are welcome.”

Loneliness and depression can affect so many new parents, which is why we have made it our mission to create shows that help parents feel like themselves again, get out of the house, and have a much needed laugh.

Bring Your Own Baby was conceived by best friends and professional comedians Carly Smallman and Alyssa Kyria.

After new mum Alyssa suffered with post-natal depression after the birth of her daughter, the dynamic duo decided to help other local parents by starting a day-time comedy club in the function room above their local pub – they now host them at venues across the UK.

The Lowry’s Lyric Theatre can be found using the following postcode M50 3AZ. Doors will open from 11:15am on Thursday Sept 6 for the midday show.
