A man has been charged with assault after a Police Community Support Officer was spat on while giving first aid to their partner on Tuesday night.
The officer was interrupted at around 11pm on Tuesday June 24 as they helped their partner and was assaulted as they tried to help their injured colleague.
Matthiew Fabre, 32, of Turner Street, has now been charged with assault in connection with the attack.
The City Centre division of Greater Manchester Police tweeted on Wednesday that Fabre had now been charged with the attack.
He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on July 21.
