Celebrity Big Brother winner Rylan Clark, Geordie Shore’s Gaz and former Emmerdale star Danny Miller were special guests at a children’s charity event which raised £59,000 last week.
The Cash for Kids Ladies Lunch at Old Trafford last Friday raised funds to help disadvantaged children in the region.
Following a string quartet and champagne reception guests were treated to a three-course dinner, catwalk fashion show by John Lewis Cheadle, a fundraising auction.
Charity Manager Emma Brown organised a game of pass the parcel with a difference – When attendees opened their parcels they found nothing, much the same as many disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester find on the table when they get home.
A Cash for Kids spokesman said: “This brought home the harsh reality that 1 in 3 children go to bed without a hot meal on a daily basis and then onto school hungry the following day.
Rylan treated the delighted audience to his own version of Gangnam style and finished with a Spice Girl medley.
She added: “Another fantastic day was had by all who attended and an amazing £59,000 was raised that will all go back into Greater Manchester to help local disadvantaged children.
