Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has selected a Wythenshawe student to become an apprentice at her star-studded agency.
Chantelle Booth, 21, from Poundswick in Wythenshawe will assist the TV star with her agency VIP Appearances at numerous celebrity and charity events after being chosen at the college’s jobs fair.
The brains behind the event hosted the event to support and celebrate residents and businesses and also to uphold their pledge to get 100 Manchester people into jobs.
Kym, who has been working in partnership with the college’s apprenticeship team, said: “We are really thrilled to be involved with The Manchester College on their campaign.
“I’m a big fan of apprenticeships and it’s a fantastic idea – it was a no brainer for us to get involved.”
Chantelle said: “This is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.
“Kym is such a fantastic role model showing what you can achieve when you set your mind to it, and I know I’ll learn a lot from the job.”
At the fair people had access to careers advice, opportunities to develop their employability skills and also the opportunity to meet employers.
The staff and students at The Manchester College are also supporting Young People’s Support Foundation (YPSF) who help and support young homeless people.
